Van Kronenburg Autosport has gathered an extensive knowledge and experience with developing, building and tuning high performance engines through the long history of the company. This experience and knowledge is also used to offer customers an extensive range of ‘chiptuning’ possibility’s.
‘Chiptuning’ means that software in the original Engine Control Unit (ECU) is adjusted to deliver better driveability, power, torque and in most cases better fuel consumption. This can be achieved in two ways; through replacing the original chip with a custom made aftermarket version (hence the term ‘chiptuning’) or through OBD-tuning.
The aftermarket chip used by Van Kronenburg Autosport is custom made to suit the customers specifications. On Board Diagnosis (OBD) tuning means that the chip on the ECU is reprogrammed through the OBD port. Most cars after the year 2000 are equipped with an OBD port meaning that these cars can be easily tuned.
One of the advantages of chiptuning by Van Kronenburg Autosport is that we can directly measure the effect of the chiptuning on our 4WD rolling road. If the result is not satisfactory, the program/chip can be adjusted to achieve the desired effect of the chiptuning. The result can off course be supplied to the customer on a printout.
